Service agreement · draft

A contract, not a crossed-fingers arrangement.

Most hosting deals are vague. This one is written down. Below is exactly what Uplink commits to — and exactly what happens if we fail. Read it like a contract, because it is one.

Party A

Uplink Sites B.V.

Party B

The Client

On first monthly billing

Article I — Our commitments

§ 1.01

Hosting & infrastructure

Uplink shall host the Client's website on European infrastructure, including DNS, CDN, TLS certificates, and firewall configuration. No separate hosting invoice shall ever reach the Client.

§ 1.02

Continuous security

Uplink shall apply security patches, framework updates, and dependency upgrades within 48 hours of disclosure. Known zero-day vulnerabilities affecting the Client's site shall be patched the same business day.

§ 1.03

Backups & recovery

Uplink shall perform automated daily backups with point-in-time restore capability. A full restore shall be executable within two (2) business hours of a written request.

§ 2.01

Response times

Non-urgent requests submitted by email shall be acknowledged the same business day and resolved within the next business day. Urgent incidents (outage, data loss, security breach) shall begin triage within sixty (60) minutes.

§ 2.02

Small changes

The Client is entitled to unlimited minor content edits — copy, imagery, small layout tweaks — at no additional cost beyond the monthly fee. Larger changes are scoped, quoted, and approved in writing.

§ 3.01

No lock-in

The Client may terminate this arrangement at the end of any billing period. Uplink shall cooperate in full with any handover, delivering source artefacts, content exports, and DNS records within five (5) business days.

Article II — If we fail

Remedies.

Vague promises are worthless. These are real, billable consequences for real failures — enforceable in writing.

FAQ

Common questions about hosting & maintenance

Everything we get asked when we move someone onto our plan.

Do I need to move my domain?+

Only if you want to. We can point your existing domain at our hosting with a single DNS change, or take over domain management if you prefer one less thing to track.

Is SSL really included?+

Yes — certificates, renewals, and HTTPS setup are all part of the plan. You never get a browser warning or an expired certificate email.

What does 'fast' mean in practice?+

European edge delivery, optimized assets, and regular performance audits. For most sites we run, PageSpeed scores stay above 95 on mobile.

How are small changes handled?+

Minor text updates, image swaps, and small layout tweaks are included. Bigger changes — new pages, new features — are quoted separately, and we're always transparent about which is which.

Can I cancel anytime?+

Yes. No long contracts. Month-to-month, cancel at the end of any billing cycle. We'll hand back your content and help with the handover if you ever leave.
